OGDEN — Police are working with the Ogden School District after multiple reports have been made about a man engaging in lewd or suspicious behavior.

The reports have come into the Ogden Police Department from a neighborhood on Ogden's East Bench during the past two weeks.

"Some of these are allegations — we can't verify them, but we are taking them seriously and we are reallocating our resources to accurately deal with this issue," said Lt. Danielle Croyle.

The man was described as being between 20 and 25 years old in reports, she said. The people who called in also said he appeared to be a man of thin build and of Indian or Hispanic descent with dark hair and a clean shaven face. The car he was driving was described as being dark green, or another dark color, of an unknown make and model.

After news of the report spread to neighboring schools, unconfirmed sightings of the man increased, so the Ogden Police Department has been working with the school district to educate students about stranger danger.

Croyle said they talked to students about things like how to react if someone approached them, the importance of walking to and from school with a friend, letting parents know where they are going and giving their parents the contact information of their top three friends.

Officers have also been working closely with the principals of the schools in the area and additional officers have been stationed in the area as a precautionary measure.

Police have not been able to identify the man or determine his location. Those with information can call the Ogden Police Department at 801-629-8221.
