LOA — Friday, authorities ended the search for a man missing for three days after locating the 57-year-old alive.

Steven Gurr from Loa was last seen Tuesday near his home, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. He was found alive and well around 2 p.m. Friday in the Mussentuchit Flats area.

His family said he was going out to shoot video of wildlife and hunt rabbits when he disappeared. Crews on the ground and in the air searched for two days.

Gurr apparently drove his car on a dirt road near I-70, where it got stuck. Gurr was found approximately 7 to 10 miles from his car in a camping trailer.

The family was especially concerned because Gurr suffers from depression and anxiety and he doesn't have his medication with him, they said.

Ranch hand David Fielder called the Emery County Sheriff's Office Friday at approximately 10:30 a.m. and reported that there was a man in his camp near the East Cedar Mountain area. Lt. Gayle Jensen responded to the call and met with Fielder, who said that the man was in his camp trailer when he arrived at camp that morning and said the man told Fielder he was sick and needed help.

The man was asleep in the camp trailer when Lt. Jensen and Fielder arrived. Lt. Jensen verified that the man was the missing person, Steven Gurr.

Lt. Jensen observed that Gurr was confused and disoriented. Fielder gave Gurr a sandwich and water and Lt. Jensen gave Gurr a 28-mile ride back to Interstate 70 where they met Emery EMTs, who transported Gurr to the Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield to be evaluated.

Gurr told Lt. Jensen that he had been lost for the last couple of days and had not had his medications.
