SALT LAKE CITY — A new report card gives Utah a D plus for its public education policies.
The report card comes from a group called Students First, which is made up of more than 2 million parents, teachers, and administrators concerned about public education.
The State Policy Report Card for 2014 was made public overnight. It shows Utah gets a D plus, with a GPA of 1.58.
However, Utah remains 16th in the nation when it comes to improving education policy.
Utah gets an F for spending wisely and governing public education well.
The state's highest score comes in Value Effective Teachers, rewarding teachers with pay. Utah got a B minus in that area.
