HELPER — A New Mexico man is in custody following a rollover crash in Carbon County that may have been alcohol-related.
According to Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Dougherty, one man was arrested and another injured following a single-vehicle rollover near Helper late Friday night.
Dougherty said a pickup truck failed to negotiate a curve on U.S. 191 near milepost 257. The vehicle traveled off the shoulder and back onto the road where it flipped over onto its roof and came to rest in the middle of the highway.
The driver, Anthony Kellywood, 49, was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries, said Dougherty. The passenger, 38-year-old Gabriel John, also from New Mexico, was treated and released from Castleview Hospital in Price.
Dougherty said because Kellywood's blood alcohol content was .099, he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
