MORGAN — A semitrailer landed upside down in the Weber river after the driver lost control Friday, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Both fuel tanks ruptured as a result of the crash and are leaking into the Weber river, UHP said. The Weber County Health Department and Hazmat have been notified.

The driver was able to safely get out of the semitrailer after he lost control and ran off the right side of I-84 near Morgan, according to UHP. He flagged down another driver and was taken to the Ogden Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Traffic in one lane of I-84 will be closed when the semitrailer is removed from the river, UHP said. The semitrailer had been transporting steel.
