SALT LAKE CITY — Six residents were evacuated from an apartment fire that left them temporarily homeless Saturday.

No one was injured in the fire, which started around 2:30 a.m. at 2625 S. Stringham Ave. Fire investigators believe the cause was electrical, originating in the pipe chase behind a bathroom wall, according to Salt Lake City fire spokesman Jasen Asay.

Two units sustained fire, smoke and water damages, while a third was damaged as firefighters sought access to the fire and forced their way in, Asay said.

The six displaced residents received assistance from the Red Cross.
