ROY, Utah (AP) - Charges have been filed in the death of a man whose body was found buried in the backyard of a home in Roy.

The Standard-Examiner reports 34-year-old Daniel Rivera was charged last week with manslaughter and desecration of a human body after 25-year-old Victor Flores' death.

Flores' body was unearthed Feb. 10, 2012, in the backyard of Rivera's girlfriend, Sarah Munn. Charging documents indicate Flores died nine months earlier.

Court documents say Rivera rented a tractor to dig a hole in Munn's backyard the day after Flores died. Munn reportedly told police they dug the hole to put a trampoline at ground level, and then filled it in because it was the wrong size.

Rivera is already in prison after escaping from a jail work release program in 2011.
