MURRAY — Murray police officers received a report of a stabbing around 10 p.m. near the Westman Apartments on 4 East Regal Street. Two neighbors had an altercation, and one man stabbed the other man in the abdomen, according to Sgt. Jake Huggard. The man then fled the scene.

Murray Police Sgt. Jake Huggard said Fidencio Ulibarri was booked into jail early Sunday in connection with the stabbing. Huggard said Ulibarri initially fled the scene but was apprehended after returning to the apartment where he had been staying.

The argument "may have involved the victim's girlfriend," Huggard said. The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was unconscious after surgery and has been unable to assist authorities, the sergeant said.

The stabbing victim was transported to the Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition and underwent surgery. Huggard said that doctors were afraid the victim had lost a lot of blood in the incident.
