OGDEN — Police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Ogden man who was found at a dump in Los Angeles about two weeks after he went missing in Utah.

Ryan Bush was reported missing by his mother, Tina Ross, on April 20, 2013, after she had not heard from him for five days.

Officials entered the report into a national database, and soon after, Ogden police received a call from the Los Angeles Police Department. LAPD said that a highly decomposed body was found at a dump just outside of Los Angeles on April 28, and that they had successfully identified that body as Bush's.

Lt. Daniel Croyle with the Ogden police Department said that the missing persons case is closed, but Utah officials are still trying to narrow down exactly when Bush died. So they are once again reaching out to the public to try and glean new information.

Ross said that this experience has been "unreal," and not a day goes by where she doesn't wonder what happened.

She said that her son was "very mellow" and "non-confrontational," so she doesn't know how this would have happened to him.

Ross believes her son was killed in Utah then taken to a recycle site in Ogden where his body was then transported to a dump in Southern California via recycling truck.

"I just want answers, justice for Ryan. Because I won't ever have justice — never," Ross said.

Because this is an open and active investigation, police can't release a lot of details, but LAPD detectives have been in the area asking questions, because the cause of death is in their jurisdiction.
