BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON — Search and rescue crews are trying to extricate a woman who became trapped on rocks while climbing.

A man and a woman were climbing in the Storm Mountain area of Big Cottonwood Canyon Sunday afternoon, according to Unified Police officials, when their rope apparently became stuck on some rocks during the climbing and they were stranded.

The man was able to get himself out, but the woman remained trapped.

Unified Police search and rescue teams have responded to get the woman, who is uninjured, out of the canyon.

More information will be posted when it becomes available.
