SALT LAKE CITY — One man has been hospitalized after he drove a truck into the wing of a private aircraft Sunday at the Salt Lake International Airport.
At about 6:30 p.m., a service truck collided with the wing of the aircraft. The wing went through the windshield and caused injuries to the driver, according to airport spokesperson Barbara Gann.
Because fuel is stored in the wing of the particular aircraft that was hit, the collision caused a fuel leak. Hazmat teams were called in to clean up the mess, Gann said.
The man was taken to Intermountain Medical Center. The extent of his injuries was not yet available Sunday night.
The exact cause of the incident is not known and is still under investigation, Gann said.
