PlaidWood Design is a small (like just 2 people small) custom woodworking company in Utah. Our focus is building your ideas.
We love custom building your that final piece of furniture that will make your space perfect, or your dream home décor item. We love the creativity of our custom clients – it’s always a thrill to make something we’ve never seen before! You, our clients are some of the most creative people we know!
Visit our site at www.plaidwooddesign.com to see what we've done for others, and to get those creative juices flowing yourself.
We also specialize in creating beauty from recycled or reclaimed wood.
In all aspects of our business, our focus is on creating beauty in a green way, using wood from sustainable wood source, using true barnwood from local sources, and as much recycled and reclaimed materials as possible.
We always can tell you the history of every piece of wood used in our reclaimed wood products. That’s usually because we gather it ourselves from decades-old farms, or we purchase from local sources who mine their wood from 100 year old barns, sheds, and railroads. We love when a piece lets us use the old nails we pull from the wood.
We also support Habitat for Humanity by purchasing as much of our hardware as possible from their ReStores in Provo and Salt Lake City. Other hardware comes from local shops and secondhand finds. Because our products are built from found vintage wood and recycled hardware, you save on the price, and you feel good knowing you are decorating your home in an environmentally friendly way, with products that have a history behind them.
Of course, for our fine furniture custom clients, we always use your preference of wood and accessories --- reclaimed or new.
Our products are always durable, long lasting, eco-friendly and handcrafted in the USA.
