Job Description
Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority (UHEAA) administers the student loan program for the State of Utah under the Federal Family Education Loan Program, as well as being a servicer for the U. S. Department of Education. UHEAA seeks applicants for a senior software application developer to join our dynamic system development team where progressive ideas are fostered and team members are encouraged to explore options and pursue the right solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of object oriented programming and be able to develop software on schedule, adhering to department standards and processes. Salary offered will be $70,000 - $75,000 depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities include programming and maintaining:
• Windows applications using VB.NET, C#, and VBA
• Web applications using Visual Studio and ASP.NET
• Reports using SQL, SAS, and Crystal Reports
• SQL Server relational databases for transactional and reporting systems
• Testing and debugging new and existing code
Requirements
Required qualifications include:
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in education and related experience)
• Minimum 5 years programming experience using one or more of the following; VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET
• Minimum 3 years SQL
• High technical aptitude
• In-depth understanding of software development methods and an ability to articulate project status, issues, and resolutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet timelines and objectives
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must

Favorable consideration will be given for experience with:
• Loan servicing industry
• AJAX, XML, CSS, JavaScript, IIS
• ASP.NET page and control life cycles, view state, and session management
• Web application security and web services
• Unit testing, test driven development, and other applicable maintenance methods and techniques
• SAS or Crystal Reports
