Job Profile: Support Engineering, Field Applications Engineering


R Systems Solutions Inc. is seeking a Tier 2 Server Support Engineer who will work closely with a team of front-line agents. The Tier 2 Server Support Engineer will be an escalation point for agents and high level VIP customers. We are supporting an Enterprise solution for mobile messaging. The candidate will be expected to utilize their experience administering and supporting Microsoft Exchange (Lotus Domino) to resolve complicated issues. RIM/BES/GOOD admin experience is also a big plus!
The candidate must be: Highly organized and detail oriented; Strong in verbal and written skills; Excellent with customer service skills; Excellent with planning and problem solving; and able to work independently to assigned tasks. A working administrator’s knowledge of both the Outlook client and Exchange server supporting technologies including:

• Ability to multi-task, good organization skills, persistence, patience
• Technical aptitude in resolving complex technical server and/or networking issues
Requirements
Responsibilities include:

• Analyze diagnostic log files from Exchange network environments and/or Domino network environments and GMM servers to determine appropriate steps for the Tier 1/Tier 2 Support team to restore service to customers.
• Provide root cause analysis of customer issues.
• Develop workarounds and fixes to existing product lines when applicable.
• Train and lead other Tier1/Tier2 Support Engineer.
• Provide a Front Line interface to the Tier3/Development Support team.

Educational Requirements:

• Degree from an accredited college/university or on the job experience

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years in a support role; ideally in IT Administration.
• An aptitude for solving complex server and networking issues.
• An ability to read and analyze log files.

Bonus Points for:

• Networking experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with IBM Lotus Domino configuration
• 3+ years IT experience is a plus.
• 2+ years Microsoft Exchange Configuration experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and write Perl scripts.
