    Job Description

    The Summit Hotel in Ogden, soon to be the Courtyard by Marriott, is seeking for a Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Full and Part Time positions available.

    Responsibilities

    The hotel engineer will have the ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work as needed. Carry a portable radio, staying in constant communication with the central base station, respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner.

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner. 2. Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs to all hotel equipment, including guest rooms, kitchen, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, and electrical. 3. Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full engineering staff is not available (i.e weekends and evenings). 4. Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, emergencies and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities. 5. Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order. 6. Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas. 7. Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify the next shift. 8. Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased. 9. Handle elevator breakdowns. 10. Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering. 11. Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed. 12. Respond to any other maintenance related requests as needed.
