Steele Memorial Medical Center (SMMC) is a Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic located in scenic Salmon, Idaho on the famous “River of No Return.” SMMC has the distinction of being one of the most remote hospitals in the lower 48 states. Our service area borders the Frank Church Wilderness Area the second largest protected wilderness in the contiguous United States. SMMC is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Nurse Manager with excellent interpersonal skills and leadership skills. This is a full-time exempt position. The Emergency Department Nurse Manager has responsibility and primary accountability in supervising a multidisciplinary environment. 24/7 accountability for the Emergency Department and Outpatient Specialty Clinic, focuses on safe effective patient care, patient education, customer satisfaction and quality outcomes, maintains financial stability, and facilitates an environment rich in staff development with an emphasis on evidence based practice and education. Is responsible for staff scheduling, monitors patient outcomes, checks results, controls costs, and conducts unit staff appraisals for performance. Provides supervision to the nurses assigned to the Emergency Department as appropriate, as well as the OP Clinic Coordinator and will interact and communicate with the CNO to provide input for overall strategic planning for the departments.
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with a current Idaho RN license, Associate Degree in nursing required, Bachelors Degree preferred, 2+ years emergency room clinical experience required as well as nursing leadership experience required.
