    Job Description

    Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Improve overall on-time service while optimizing profitability through identification and execution of service recovery on manageable late loads within our network. 1.Pro-actively search potentially late loads; identify and determine alternative planning solutions and adjust planning as required to meet on-time delivery expectations. Ensure optimal equipment utilization and satisfaction of customer expectations while maximizing profitability. 2.Assess current, 'crisis-state' load circumstances and determine best overall solution with least financial impact for optimal service recovery opportunities. Lead and direct immediate action; utilize all available tools, perform planning functions and critical thinking activities to ensure on-time deliveries and improved customer service. 3.Evaluate loads and drivers to identify issues concerning on-time service, BSEG (Business Segment) requirements, hours of service optimization and asset utilization, driver home and request needs and equipment failures. 4.Act as liaison and communicate effectively and professionally with customers, customer personnel, designated department personnel and leadership of all levels in regard to business needs; anticipate and facilitate problem resolution on all load issues to meet or exceed required service levels. Collaborate with designated internal department personnel to resolve customer or company issues as necessary. 5.Conduct persuasive discussions with drivers to ensure loads are accepted; drop and swap loads and ensure drivers work toward overall goal of on-time service in order to increase equipment and resource utilization while maintaining customer satisfaction and requirements. 6.Communicate, coordinate, and implement service recovery recommendations. Document and recommend upgrades and changes to existing tools and programs; support testing of system upgrades and program changes. Utilize various company reports to identify opportunities for improvement. 7.Know, support and enforce company policies. 8.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations. 9.Perform any other responsibilities as required by leadership or by the Customer. 1.Skills: Understanding of hour of service regulations; critical thinking ability with advanced decision-making skills; reasoning and negotiation skills; thorough working knowledge of the AS400 system and personal computers; above average keyboarding skills; excellent team-building and training skills; ability to communicate well with others; ability to transfer knowledge; organizational skills; ability to take direction from leaders; detail oriented 2.Education: Baccalaureate from Accredited University or College preferred. 3.Experience Required: Four (4) years previous experience in operations or customer service required.
