    Job Description

Over 4,500 people work for Hexcel at various manufacturing sites, sales offices and R&T centres around the globe??????we call them our ???Strength Within" SUMMARY: Responsible for managing Master Scheduling processes to plan and prepare production schedules for manufacture of industrial and commercial products by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following (other duties may be assigned): - Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates and inventory targets according to sales forecast and customer orders as outlined by Material Control Manager and Master Production Planner(s). - Analyses production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools and human resource requirements. - Ensure the alignment of the production scheduling strategy with the business strategies driving sales, marketing, finance, and manufacturing. - Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. - Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. - Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. - Prepares production documents and reports. - Prepares requisitions to obtain special materials required by the customer.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. - Three to Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience. - Proficiency with computer skills in Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential. - Accredited post-secondary degree (a bachelor???s or equivalent) including, but not limited to, business, economics, engineering, or liberal arts studies is preferred. - APICS/equivalent certification preferred WORKPLACE and LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Representative of the skills and abilities that allow individuals to function in an organizational setting: - Problem solving and decision making: Practice goal-directed thinking and action for situations where no routine solutions exist. Employee must obey all safety precautions found in the office and work area. The employee must promote safety awareness through regular safety meetings and group discussions. Employee must be willing to participate and conduct safety analysis and observations for all new and modified equipment and processes. Employee must contribute to an accident/injury free workplace by demonstrating a thorough working knowledge of regulations, procedures and controls related to safety. ENVIRONMENTAL: Employee must work and conduct him/herself in an environmentally conscious manner within an office or production setting. Employee is required to meet regulatory and company environmental objectives outlined and administered by the Environmental Department and Business Management. Employee must attend and contribute to scheduled company environmental training classes and meetings. Employee must be alert and aware of potential Environmental violations and/or issues and communicate those potential environmental issues to Business Management and the Environmental Department. Employee must immediately report the release of any chemical compound to the air, ground, or water system unless the discharge has been pre-approved by the Environmental Engineer. Employee must obey all environmental standards and procedures and promote environmental awareness through monthly meetings and group discussions. Employee must comply to and support the HEXCEL Salt Lake City ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and actively contribute to an environmental violation/excursion free workplace by demonstrating a thorough working knowledge of requirements, standards, procedures and controls related to environmental.
