Biomerics is a leading and innovative polymer solution provider to the medical device and biotech industries. We manufacture biomaterials, extrusions, injection molded components, and finished devices for many of the world's leading medical device corporations. The R&D Chemist/Engineer has broad responsibilities in the areas of new materials R&D, analytical chemistry, and organic synthesis. S/he will report to the R&D Manager and will work on several R&D projects simultaneously, including acting as project lead on some of them. The successful candidate will have an interest in hands-on work and demonstrate initiative to carry projects forward. Roles and responsibilities include: ??? Conduct laboratory experiments including ??? Polymerization reactions, ??? Functional coating formulation and process development, ??? Organic synthesis of polymers and intermediates ??? Test method development, including equipment and test method validation (IQ/OQ/PQ, Gage R&R, etc) ??? Guide new materials/processes from laboratory scale to production scale ??? Maintain a detailed and organized laboratory notebook ??? Compile data into tables and charts for analysis ??? Prepare reports for internal use and for customers

??? BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science/Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or other related field ??? Laboratory experience with analytical chemistry, polymers, and/or organic chemistry ??? Experience with quality/regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO 13485, GLP, etc.) a plus ??? Excellent verbal and written communication skills ??? Excellent time management and organizational skills in order to handle multiple projects simultaneously ??? Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel ??? Must be familiar with general laboratory safety procedures ??? Experience with statistical analysis and/or design of experiments a plus
