Part-Time PC Technician Overview: Installs, configures, supports, and troubleshoots IT equipment including PCs, laptops, printers, PDAs, and all other peripheral equipment. Also installs and supports desktop applications and operating systems. ??? Provide technical software, hardware and network problem resolution ??? Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner Provide one-on-one end-user training as needed ??? Identifies, diagnoses, document, and resolves issues for end users, computer software and hardware, network, the Internet and new computer technology; communicates solutions to end-users ??? Delivers, sets up, and configures end-user PC desktop hardware, software and peripherals ??? Diagnoses and resolves end-user network or local printer problems, PC hardware problems, e-mail, Internet, dial-in, and local-area network access problems ??? Performs desktop hardware repair for PC computer equipment and peripherals ??? Install local area network cabling systems ??? Maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population ??? Facilitate the complete solution of product sales, upgrades, installations and service ??? Provide the initial contact with customers, and assess/repair issues. ??? Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Candidates who apply need to be a self-motivated IT professional with experience in an IT technical support environment, possess excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills. Preferably a student enrolled in continuing education courses in a technical field of study. Training/Education/Certification ??? Any A+ or other Intel hardware or technology certifications will be highly beneficial.

Required Knowledge ??? Solid understanding of Windows XP & Windows 7 Pro. ??? Solid understanding of desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc. ??? Understanding of server operating systems. ??? Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex problems; ability to visualize a problem and think abstractly to solve it ??? Techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users. ??? Communication skills using speech and writing. ??? Experience installing, troubleshooting, and supporting local area network cabling systems Experience Required ??? Two+ years??? experience administering Windows desktop operating systems. ??? Strong skill set in PC hardware troubleshooting & diagnostics. ??? Minimum three years??? experience and comfortable with all aspects of PC bios, driver, ram and performance issues. ??? Two+ years??? experience installing network infrastructure cabling. ??? Two+ years supporting and troubleshooting data & vice networks. Skills/Abilities ??? Strong analytic and problem solving skills. ??? Professional demeanor, excellent telephone listening skills ??? Well organized, with good verbal and written communications skills. ??? Ability to prioritize and plan projects effectively. ??? Ability to assist others and share knowledge with other team members. ??? High school diploma or equivalent required. ??? Strong communication and customer service skills required. ??? Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange experience preferred. ??? Strong Customer Service skills are a Must. ??? Ability to learn and support new applications. ??? Must be a self-starter and be able to work unattended. ??? Must be proactive and demonstrate an excellent work ethic ??? Ability to prioritize and work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and be adaptable to changing situations and environment ??? Ability to multitask effectively ??? Experience with phone systems is a plus ??? Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 70 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
