    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY The Electronic Technician is responsible for repairing and upgrading devices that are returned from the field. The Electronic Technician also will be repairing new units that failed Quality Assurance (QA) in house, as needed. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES *Perform work according to work instructions, as well make repairs that may not have recorded documentation *Work as part of a team to identify trends and new problems the group is seeing *Perform automated tests via terminal emulator *Troubleshoot circuit problems down to the component level *Repair returned tracking units *Upgrade and modify tracking units as needed *Document device failures and components replaced or scrapped WORK ENVIRONMENT *The employee will be working in a warehouse environment, which may be cold or hot depending on the season *The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods *The employee frequently works with chemicals and is provided all necessary protective and precautionary equipment.

    Relocation costs may be covered.

    Requirements

    SKILLS REQUIRED *Minimum of 4 years experience working as an Electronic Technician *Technical or Electronics Degree or IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred *Previous experience with Cellular/RF Technologies a plus *Ability to read electronic schematics *Familiar with and able to use soldering station, de-soldering station, DMM, microscope, oscilloscope, hot tweezers, and other equipment used in Electronic Technician field *Must be comfortable soldering small fine pitch & through hole parts *Proven problem solving abilities and analytical skills *Good communication skills *Follows through on all assigned tasks *Good computer skills *Very high level of attention to detail *Works well in a fast paced team environment *Must pass a basic electronics test before hire
