Behavior Interventionist - Wasatch Front Job Description : A Behavior Interventionist works with children with disabilities, typically Autism, to provide ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy in order to teach skills the child is missing or are weak, and to correct problem behavior and increase independence and age-typical abilities. Therapy sessions consist of highly structured teaching, natural play and exploration, and whole-home interventions to increase sibling play and life skills. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or one year of experience in human service related field working with individuals with disabilities, or experience working as a paraprofessional in a private or public school setting. Experience with children with Autism is preferred. Must pass a background check and have a reliable vehicle with insurance. A strong candidate will: Display professionalism at all times, especially when entering client's homes. Desire to work as part of a collaborative team. Ability to be flexible with hours and workload, to be creative while working with children, and at times, to work independently and successfully with limited information. Ability to plan and conduct an Applied Behavior Analysis session according to individual children's program instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels. Ability to collect accurate data and documentation of session activities. Display consistency and reliability with assigned work hours and sessions. Due to sessions occurring in client homes and in the community, Interventionists must be highly organized and self-disciplined, keeping track of complex schedules, locations, and other requirements and keeping in contact with the main office on a regular basis. We provide therapy 7 days a week, from 8:00 AM until 7:30 PM, with flexible schedules that work great for students. We are currently hiring for 30-35 hr. per week positions along the Wasatch Front area, with the possibility of more hours if you are willing to commute.
