    Job Description

    With our strong investment in research and development, and culture of continuous improvement, Hexcel is the industry leader in the manufacturing of industrial fabrics and composite materials. Over 4,500 people work for Hexcel at various manufacturing sites, sales offices and R&T centers around the globe??????we call them our ???Strength Within" Hexcel is currently seeking a Project Engineer to be located at their Carbon Fiber Salt Lake City site. The Project Engineer will be responsible to manage and successfully complete engineering, equipment & construction projects by defining the technical tasks, timescale, necessary resources and associated cost to achieve targeted objectives. The projects will emphasis safety and environmental compliance, schedule compliance and budget compliance, while ensuring technical success. The selected individual will be responsible for the following efforts: Develop capital justification & requests for projects that will be managed and completed by the project engineer. To ensure that the projects are run within the defined scope, schedule and associated capital investment with agreed upon resources. To ensure that the project resources are dedicated, assessed and developed to satisfy successful project completion. To lead the project by driving continuous progress, regular review and communication to management. Continuous improvement in project management is expected, using the appropriate process, management and quality tools (e.g. Lean and Six Sigma) to improve methods, work flow, quality and cost reduction initiatives. To ensure that safety and environmental aspects and constraints are included from the beginning of the project scope and working practices are carried out to meet, at minimum, company???s standards on health, safety and environment. Works under minimal supervision; performs duties collaboratively with contacts. Potential supervision, development and coaching of technical individuals. As part of the project scope, the project engineer is responsible for ensuring an understanding and compliance of safety and environmental regulations and that staff responses are clearly understood and specified. Responsible for maintaining adequate controls to ensure the integrity and completion of various aspects of project. Seek and coordinate outside engineering/contractor services as appropriate for successful project completion. Performance is measured by: technical success, timely project completion and cost. Management ??? two-way exchange of information regarding business objectives and improvement plans with the following functions: Manufacturing Team Process Engineering Production Planners ??? address requirements for process / material trials / outstanding orders. Quality ??? to support documentation, data analysis and trends. Safety and Environmental. Maintenance R&T, S&M, purchasing, advanced manufacturing development and finance teams as appropriate.

    Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline with at least 5 years??? experience in project engineering and construction. Degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical required. Experience with scheduling tools (e.g. Microsoft Project). Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, engineering principles, and statistics. Ability to define problems, analyzes data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Must be able to function in a team environment with good communication skills at all levels of the organization. Must have proven people management skills. Prior supervision experience is desirable. Competency with drawing software (e.g. AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Preferred Strong understanding of Finance /Accounting Principles Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction drawings Eligible candidate must be: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, a temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Act, a person admitted in refugee status, a person granted asylum.
