Seastrom Manufacturing Company, Inc. Job Description Job Title: Materials Specialist Department: Purchasing Reports To: Vice-President of Administration FLSA Status: Exempt SUMMARY Responsible for supply chain management including but not limited to the procurement of raw materials, outside purchased inventory, out-sourced processing, vendor and contract management and materials allocation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Continuous development of best-business practices involving related processes and budgetary standards while exhibiting leadership, timeliness, and creativity in achieving personal and departmental goals. Meet or exceed deadlines and standards. Facilitate operational problem solving. Raw Materials Management: Purchasing and stocking activities insuring quality, proper restocking levels, vendor performance, and maintenance of preferential material pricing at all times. Utilize all computerized systems, including ERP and MRP, to provide for efficient and fiscally responsible processes. MRO purchasing and restocking activities as directed by supervisor. Purchasing and Sourcing of Non-Manufactured parts: Purchasing of outside purchased parts along with maintenance of preferential pricing from outside processing and other vendors. Ensure vendor performance, preferential pricing, and performance in all related areas. Purchasing of distribute parts from approved vendors while always seeking quality products at the lowest prices. Continuous search for optional material, outside purchasing, & processing vendors. Active participation and support of a team environment at all times while supporting the company???s human resource and safety policies, procedures, and practices. Performance on budgetary, productivity, service, and related issues with results reporting as required. Seek, negotiate, and maintain purchasing and contracts with approved vendors. Continuously maintain current standardized material and process pricing in electronic form. Other tasks, activities and projects as directed by the Vice President of Finance. Work in a safe and professional manner, keep a clean work area, and wear proper protective equipment. Cooperation with supervisor and co-workers, willing to work as a team. Show by example: temperament, professionalism, and teamwork. Timely arrival and regular attendance at work. Willing to work overtime. Willing to work any shift. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily. TECHNICAL SKILLS Requires strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, ERP and MRP operational systems, and the ability to keyboard accurately at 40 wpm. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Preferred four-year college degree in business management, finance, accounting, marketing, or engineering (or equivalent professional experience) with experience in procurement, statistical analysis, logistics and systems support. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong professional experience in MRP and ERP operating systems. Working knowledge of electronic communication processes, web-based procurement and investigation systems, PC and mainframe based software and operating systems including word processing and spreadsheet applications. LANGUAGE SKILLS The ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Able to create and maintain all forms of graphs, charts, and diagrams. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required use hands to finger, handle, or grab; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee Rarely, if ever, required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch and reach. The employee is required to sit for extensive lengths of time. The employee is Occasionally required to lift and/or move 10 pounds and Rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
