The Solids Handling Operator performs a variety of entry level technical duties related to composting, solids handling, handling and processing of carbon sources and keeping records of all transactions. This position requires operation of a variety of hand and power tools and equipment needed to install, maintain and repair trucks, equipment and processes as needed to bring them up to specifications; may perform as a safety flagman; operates dump truck, front-end loader, forklift and other District equipment. Records instrument readings, charts indicators, also temperature and oxygen readings in the compost pile. Monitors for odors and maintains appropriate records.
Relocation costs may be covered.
Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent (GED) and have one (1) year of general maintenance, heavy equipment operation or wastewater operations and maintenance. Applicants must possess a State of Utah Class B Commercial Driver License. Applicant must be able to pass a alcohol and drug test; must be willing to work shift work, be on call and respond to call outs 24 hours a day, any day.
