Vacation and Sick leave The Utah State Department of Technology Services (DTS) is looking for an experienced software developer with preference given for Oracle Forms & Reports development to be assigned to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). UDOT is identified as one of the nation???s leading Transportation agencies, due in part to the innovative and supportive systems and applications utilized by the Agency. UDOT has developed and supports about 30 systems, the majority of them using Oracle database and development tools. The incumbent will provide maintenance and development for UDOT systems. Duties: ??? Writes software application programs using Oracle Forms & Reports. ??? Serves as a Technical Project Lead and works closely with the Business Project Lead, and utilizes UDOT's Software Development Project Management Methodology. ??? Receives overall business priorities, issues, and direction from Business Project Lead, according to established Development Standards and Project Steering Committee, DTS, and PMT direction. ??? Coordinates with Business Project Lead to recommend project development plans to the Project Steering Committee. ??? Works with Business Project Lead and User Group to define user requirements. ??? Creates and maintains a detailed work plan (ie. Project GANTT chart , including task assignments by person of both technical and business team members, and tracks and records actual vs. planned project progress) throughout the life of the project. ??? Develops and monitors daily technical work priorities, plans, schedules, budget, assignments, and coordinates the project effort with a Program Manger and all technical personnel to ensure accurate, efficient, and secure production processing. ??? Responsible for direct supervision of software development staff, unless otherwise designated. Works with Electronic Business Project Managers to prepare Performance Plans and provide input to Performance Reviews of software development staff. ??? Prepares RFPs, leads selection of, monitors and supervises the performance of consultants. Reviews invoices submitted for payment to ensure that the work has been successfully completed within budget before payment is made. ??? Coordinates with DTS Systems and Networking Support personnel, requesting hardware, networking, communication lines, and software purchases as needed in a timely fashion to support the project.
