The Senior Accountant maintains financial operations; ensures that revenues and expenses are within budget limits and that overall fiscal policies, practices and regulations meet compliance requirements; maintains accurate account balances; evaluates feasibility of services within budget parameters; ensures efficient use of financial resources; and provides financial guidance and recommendations to the Superintendent and/or Board. Example tasks include: Analyzes specific accounting operations for the purpose of ensuring efficiency and adherence to established internal policies and procedures; Assists in preparing annual financial reports, including working with program administrators, in developing and maintain program budgets for the purpose of ensuring fiscal solvency, and providing for internal audit of services and documentation as required by district, state and federal guidelines. Maintains and prepares a wide variety of materials, files and records (e.g., procedures, contracts, etc.) to document activities, provide written reference, convey information and comply with financial legal and/or administrative requirements. Monitors fund and account balances of assigned programs and related financial activity to ensure that allocations are accurate, related revenues are generated, expenses are within budget limit and/or fiscal practices are followed. Recommends policies, procedures, and/or actions on issues that relate to accounting functions to provide direction and/or decision making. Reconciles account balances in order to maintain accurate account balances and to comply with related policies, practices and/or regulations.

Certified Public Accounting license. Minimum of two years??? experience in an accounting related job. Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Access (applicants will be tested). Ability to perform advanced math and write and interpret highly technical information. Understanding of accounting principles, codes, policies, regulations and/or laws. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to show strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to meet deadlines and schedules. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
