    Job Description

    Summary: MSI is seeking a Graphic and Web Designer. The position will be responsible for developing and managing a wide variety of graphic design projects including web, print, logo creation, brand definition/standards, social media, websites, POS materials and other digital graphic elements. About Us: Mountain Sports International (MSI) is a private company, founded in 1997, to develop and produce action/adventure sports events and programming in North America. MSI operates the Swatch Freeride World Tour by The North Face, Subaru Freeride Series, Burton Mountain Festival, Enduro Cup race series, Mavericks Invitational and several other properties and concepts. Job Requirements: The designer must have experience in graphics, layout, scripting, programming, as well as development involving compatibility and seamless integration with various technologies. Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality design work, are key attributes of this individual.

    Required Skills: ??? Experience in developing websites and/or web applications ??? Practical experience in development of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and graphics creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, (Adobe Creative Suite) and video creation. ??? Experience with graphic and integrated design environment (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) ??? Excellent written and oral communication skills. ??? Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible, fast-paced and team‐oriented environment. ??? Collateral and Ad Creation: knowledge of typography, spatial orientation, the handling and manipulation of images, freehand graphics, and basic design elements. (Portfolio or samples of design work may be submitted) ??? BS/BA university degree a plus, or significant equivalent experience. Responsibilities: The designer will handle all graphic and design requests for a variety of departments within the organization including (but not limited to): ??? Work with team to create company and campaign brand parameters and guidelines. ??? Collateral Creation: posters, brochures, event branding, signage, merchandise, and other print materials. ??? Electronic and Web Graphics: multiple property websites and video. Mobile application design experience is a plus. ??? Ad and Content Creation: print and online campaign creation for various properties. ??? Consumer Exhibit and Activations: development of design elements for various on-site marketing activations including extension beyond traditional mediums. Core Accountabilities: ??? Operate effectively as a member of the marketing team and departments. ??? Operate effectively as an individual for quick turnaround of enhancements and adjustments. ??? Responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time, on budget and in high quality. ??? Responsible for the design, copy and development of web pages and graphics ??? Effectively develop in a clean, well structured, easily maintainable format ??? Adhere to strict client and property brand standards while creating unique pieces. ??? Demonstrate creative, technical and analytical skills ??? Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments. ??? Demonstrate the ability to adapt to an array of internal and external environments while remaining authentic and innovative within markets. Behavioral Skills: ??? Project Management: Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials, and plans design concepts accordingly. Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and font style, and related aesthetic concepts. Obtains approval of concept and prepares final layout print‐ready files of art. ??? Process Skills: Knowledge and experience to fulfill artwork in a multi‐media platform. This includes determining papers, colors, printing processes, and camera ready output. One must also have knowledge of the different formats and requirements acceptable to any electronic and/or digital media outlet. ??? Workload Organization Skills: This position requires someone who can prioritize, organize, and manage a substantial workload. This includes being able to complete jobs in a timely manner or on a specified deadline.
