    Job Description

    The primary responsibility of the Product Line Manager is to research and design world class public safety software. The successful candidate will ensure their product lines are innovative and competitive. Must have a firm understanding of software design, user interaction, and user interface design. Works with internal and external stakeholders to identify and document requirements. An understanding of the software production life cycle is required as well as the ability to coordinate software projects among various internal teams. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision. Bachelor's degree in software engineering, business information systems and/or equivalent work experience required. Requires 5 years of experience in software design and development. Moderate travel required.

    Relocation costs may be covered.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities ??? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are a necessity ??? Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences ??? Passion for creating creative software solutions for complex customer requirements ??? Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems ??? Capable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing new projects alongside customer feedback ??? Act as central point of contact for the product, with deep knowledge and vision for the future ??? Strong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into a format that can be understood by developers as well as non-technical staff ??? Ability to research and analyze product requirements from various stakeholders ??? Coach internal teams to ensure the successful creation, testing, and release of products ??? Build consensus among stakeholders ??? Ability to work well independently and as part of a diverse team in an fast-moving environment ??? Ability to multi-task among various assignments ??? Key contributor providing product support and training to all parts of the company including customers, sales, marketing, operations, quality assurance, and development ??? Represent the company at industry conferences and sales events ??? Present division goals and progress to Executive management team ??? Essential Education, Work Experience and Skills Education and Work Experience Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, business information systems and/or equivalent work experience. Requires 5 years of experience in software design and development. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Deep technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation required. General skills in research, project planning required. Firm understanding of entire development process, including requirement specification, documentation and quality assurance required. Full awareness of business issues as they impact overall project plans. Must have excellent communication (written and oral) skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Equipment and Applications Working knowledge of the Windows operating system. Experience with UNIX is a plus. Understanding of C# .Net is a plus. Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. Will be required at times to meet development deadlines. No special physical demands required. Moderate travel required. Suggested Special Skills ??? Knowledge of the Spillman public safety software suite is a plus ??? Knowledge of Law Enforcement / Public Safety is a plus
