Position Summary: Prepares & Serves nutritious, attractive meals. Maintains cleanliness of the food production & service areas. Responsibilities: 1. Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents. 2. Prepares and serves meals as indicated on planned menu, using standardized portion sizes and approved substitution. 3. Ensures that meals are served at scheduled times, planning an organizing food preparation tasks appropriately. 4. Prepares meals for modified or therapeutic diets, according to physician orders & modified menus. 5. Responsible for clean-up duties as needed after meal service. 6. Follows cleaning schedule & sanitation checklists to ensure kitchen & food service areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. 7. Ensures that resident, associate & guest meals are accounted for according to established procedures 8. Assure that resident food preferences are met

1. Desire to work with the elderly in an environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence & individuality. 2. Ability to prepare and serve a wide range of foods skillfully. 3. Working knowledge of the rules & regulations related to health & safety in food preparation 4. Well Groomed and in Dress code 5. Ability to organize & utilize time appropriately to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision. 6. Able to regularly lift up to 30-50 lbs.,and to spend long periods of time standing. All general associate requirement: Free of communicable disease *State approved food handlers certificate, criminal record clearance* Current CPR/First Aid Certification* Ability to read and write English* General understanding of the needs of elderly * Willingness to learn.
