Utah Olympic Park Mountain Adventure Guide School Thank you for your interest in working for Utah Olympic Park as we continue Utah???s Olympic legacy. Utah Olympic Park welcomed more than 300,000 spectators during the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games. With nearly 400 acres of sport and recreation opportunities, this World-class venue is now operated under the direction of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation and serves as a year round training, competition, and recreation venue for visitors of all ages and abilities. Renowned for our signature Comet Bobsled ride, Utah Olympic Park also offers incredible family-friendly experiences through our Mountain Adventure Department. The Mountain Adventure Department is accepting applications for 2013 summer seasonal positions. Available positions include: Gravity Zone Guide & Leads, and Mountain Adventure Guide, Leads, & Supervisor. Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age and be able to work weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays. All applicants must successfully complete the 2013 Utah Olympic Park Mountain Adventure Guide School. (This includes returning staff) Gravity Zone positions guide the successful operation of the Alpine Slide, Freestyle Zipline and Extreme Zipline among the steepest ziplines in the world reaching speeds up to 60 mph. Mountain Adventure positions are responsible for guiding the 65??? Drop Tower, three Adventure Courses, two Ziplines, and an all-ages Discovery Zone with bouldering wall. These newest Mountain Adventures were introduced in the fall of 2012, transforming the guest experience and setting a new standard in the industry for design, innovation and craftsmanship. The Utah Olympic Park Mountain Adventure Guide School is the first step to becoming a Mountain Adventure Guide. Applications must be submitted no later than one week prior to your desired Guide Course date. This highly sought-after position has very limited openings and each Guide School course is limited to 25 applicants, so we encourage you to apply now. If selected, you will then be invited to the Guide Course for an interview where we take a hands-on approach to hiring, which means learning-by-doing experiences! Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Accountability ??? Operate and monitor different Gravity Zone rides such as Xtreme Zip, Freestyle Zip and Alpine Slide. ??? Maintain guest and employee safety as a top priority and follow all safety protocols ??? Effectively and clearly explain activity instructions to participants ??? Act in a courteous service oriented manner ??? Follow rules established by each venue ??? Be positive, courteous and fun with each customer ??? Issue and check tickets ??? Wear Park uniform and be well groomed and neat at all times ??? All other job duties as assigned Required Knowledge and Essential Skills ??? Must work well with children, families, individuals and groups ??? Must have excellent organization skills ??? Excellent customer service skills with friendly communication style ???
