JOB SUMMARY: Under general guidance and direction of the Legacy Events Center Director and the Fair Coordinator, intern performs a variety of duties in coordinating activities related to the Davis County Fair including soliciting sponsorships, planning entertainment and activities and securing support services. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (Any one position does not include all of the duties listed; nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in this position). Assists the Legacy Events Center Director and the Fair Coordinator in preparation for and execution of the annual County fair; assists in securing sponsorship, preparation of buildings, grounds, and coordination of logistical needs for fair events, exhibits, and vendors. Assists with Fair Committee functions and coordinates various fair activities with appropriate committee members. Assists in soliciting sponsorships for the fair; contacts businesses and organizations and solicits support and participation, and sells advertisement space in the Legacy Center. Establishes a network within the business community that can assist with sponsorship revenue goals. May represent the Davis County Fair and Legacy Events Center in local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary club. Works extended flexible hours in preparation for and during the annual County Fair. Operates a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all Utah laws and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university actively seeking a Bachelor???s Degree in recreation or business management, marketing, parks/recreation, or a closely related field. Experience in sales, marketing, sponsorship, event planning or operations, recreation planning, or a directly related field is desired, but not necessary. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must furnish personal transportation for on-the-job driving. Must possess a valid Utah Driver License. Employees driving a personal vehicle while on county business must maintain the minimum vehicle liability insurance as specified in the Utah Code.
