Associate Financial Representative The Associate Financial Representative (AFR) specializes in client service to ensure the maintenance of an efficient, organized office that allows the Financial Representative to focus his/her energy building client relationships. The AFR is a liaison between the home office, financial representative, and clients. Specific responsibilities should include but not be limited to: Administrative Support Transcribe dictation, type correspondence, and maintain client case file. File new statements, account forms and other insurance/investment related materials. Maintain financial representative???s calendar, schedule follow-up appointments. Direct phone calls to appropriate personnel. Maintain check logs. Take client/prospect reservations for marketing events such as seminars. Assist in preparation of seminar materials and event mailings. Monitor and stock marketing materials for insurance and investment related materials. Send out client birthday cards and schedule birthday and age change appointments for financial representative. Generate lead letters and implement marketing programs (i.e., Marketing You, etc.) Client/Service Support: Non-Securities Insurance Input data and print proposals and gather information at direction of financial representative in preparation for client/prospect meeting. Prepare/print letter of instruction for client signature. Prepare policies for delivery. Follow-up mailing of forms to clients/prospects over signature of financial representative. Pre-check insurance applications, conversions and policy changes for completeness and accuracy. Arrange medical, paramedical and any exams necessary for underwriting. Monitor Daily Status Report (DSR); expedite any additional underwriting requirements. Handle phone calls providing current status and account values for non-securities related accounts. Contact and advise clients on late payments and other non-securities sales and service related issues. Handle incoming non-securities related insurance service requests from clients to include: processing address changes, bank change information, loan requests and ISA service inquiries. Communicate with home office as needed to supply or attain policy information. Meet with clients to complete non-securities insurance related applications. Actively participate in conservation of non-securities existing business. Telephone clients, prospects and centers of influence for appointments and referrals to generate interest in Northwestern Mutual???s non-securities related products and services. Develop and execute cross-selling plans for non-securities products. Participate in various activities of the sales cycle with the support of employing financial representative for non-securities products. Consult with clients on impact of cash values and repayment of policy loans for non-securities related products. Initiate sales of non-variable Additional Purchase Benefits (APB) and term conversions. Client/Service Support: Variable Insurance/Annuities and Investments Input data and print hypotheticals. Gather internal information for registered representative???s meeting with client/prospect (e.g. prospectuses, annual reports, Morningstar reports). Prepare/print letter of instruction (e.g., asset/account transfers, beneficiary changes, etc.) for client signature. Prepare securities insurance policies for delivery. Follow-up mailing of forms to clients/prospects over signature of registered representative. Prepare policies for delivery and run account summaries for variable and securities owners. This will include contacting NMIS/fund families for current account information. Pre-check securities insurance applications, conversions and policy changes for completeness and accuracy. Arrange medical, paramedical and any exams necessary for underwriting. Monitor Daily Status Report (DSR); expedite any additional underwriting requirements for securities insurance applications. Receive and forward checks and related paperwork to investment operations area. Contact clients to setup follow-up meetings with registered representative. Contact clients to confirm receipt of forms or request for form completion and return. Complete wire tickets based on information obtained by registered representative. Complete New Account Form based on information obtained by registered representative. Update client information with fund and NMIS. Contact client for missing demographic information (address, phone number, etc.). Input investment data into planning software (non-asset allocation components only). Identify need for switch letters and discuss with registered representative. Mutual Fund redemption requests under direction from registered representative. At registered representative???s request, notify Fund/NMIS of transfers, exchanges and redemption requests. Review application for completeness; return to registered representative for missing information. Other miscellaneous duties to include: photocopy applications, file investment related documents, file variable annuity/variable life related documents, and maintain registered representative calendar. Communicate with home office as needed to supply or attain policy information.

Administrative support or customer service experience to include computer experience and/or data entry and excellent oral and written communication skills. One year minimum Experience in financial services industry or insurance industry preferred. Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to multitask, and time management skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality
