We have an opening for a full-time Kindergarten Teacher starting in August 2013. The ideal candidate will exhibit a love and understanding of the young child, a sense of humor, flexibility, creativity, organizational ability, high energy and collegiality. JOB SUMMARY: The teacher will plan and implement an age appropriate curriculum which promotes the physical, emotional, social and cognitive development of young children, developing healthy self concepts, a love of learning, personal responsibility and respect for others. The teachers will design and set up an enriching environment that provides opportunities for children to work in large and small groups and at centers with appropriate activities matched to the children???s individual interest and ability levels. Responsibilities include: planning, preparing and teaching developmentally appropriate curriculum for students; evaluating student progress; managing student behavior; communicating with parents; working cooperatively with grade level team and classroom assistant teacher. HOURS: 1.0 FTE, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Full-time) Nine months, annual school calendar. Salary level depends on experience and performance; full benefits for full time positions and partial benefits available for half time and greater.
This is a contract position.
