    Job Description

    Major Purpose: Savage Services Corporation is seeking a Business and Marketing Analyst to provide financial, operational and commercial support to Business Development and Operating Professionals for our potential markets and existing service operations in the Oil and Gas Logistics and Transportation industry. Responsibilities / Job Duties: ??? Stay up-to-date on business trends and plans of Oil and Gas Companies throughout North America and communicate changes to the team to ensure continuity ??? Assist the team in identifying and investigating potential growth and acquisitions as well as understanding the competition through macro and micro market analysis ??? Understand the oil and gas supply chains and how to extract, converge, consolidate and integrate value-creating opportunities for customers with concentration on drilling, completions, water and field material movement initiatives, and also crude oil by rail, pipeline or open waterways ??? Learn and utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and ArcGIS mapping software to analyze and create visual representations of changes in the market and convergence opportunities ??? Prepare presentations for potential customers and industry conferences ??? Review and summarize key aspects of daily, weekly, monthly, and special-use market research reports and data ??? Create pro forma models and perform sensitivity analysis to assist in the evaluation of market opportunities ??? Partner with Operations Managers to proactively identify operational efficiencies and financial areas of improvement and assist them with an implementation plan ??? Analyze financial effects of operational cost changes and decisions (equipment purchases, employee wages, staffing plans, etc.) ??? Summarize weekly and monthly business development reports and financial variance reports for presentation to Group & Sr. Leadership ??? Assist Group and Business Unit Leadership with annual budgeting efforts ??? Assist Operations in the Oil and Gas Solutions Group with implementation of the Savage Operating System (S7) ??? Evaluate and report on group financials and Savage System performance.

    Relocation costs may be covered.


    Requirements/Qualifications: ??? Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) ??? Understands accounting, financial and budgeting systems and principals ??? Experience with GIS and ArcMap preferred, but not expected ??? Demonstrated ability to learn, adopt and gain expertise in new software platforms ??? Prefer basic understanding of the oil and gas industry, or other energy or commodity industries, with an expanding ability to identify customers and related infrastructures, supply chain structure, capital cost, throughput volumes and resulting cost and profit potential ??? Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with demonstrated ability to write proposals and create visual presentations that are concise, easily understood and informative ??? Works well with little direction. A self starter who sees a need and fills it. Takes ownership over their industry knowledge and demonstrates a willingness to learn more ??? Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion. ??? Possess good analytical skills that aid in solving problems in a positive and proactive manner ??? Commercial, Financial or Operations background ??? A problem solver- understands the challenge and takes proactive responsibility to find solution ??? Able to travel at least 20% of the time per project needs; possibly more during startup situations ??? Willing to relocate at some point in their career at Savage ??? Typically will work in an office environment where sitting for long periods of time is expected ??? Must also be willing to visit industrial facilities such as refineries, oil fields and rail facilities. These visits may expose a person to the elements, walking long distances, climbing in high places, etc. ??? Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English ??? Is passionate about the work and success of the company, employees and customers ??? Sets an example of professionalism and service Education/Experience: ??? Bachelors degree in business, accounting, marketing, economics, or a related field required ??? Engineering or IT bachelors degree with 2+ years of relevant commercial/analyst work acceptable ??? 2+ years business analyst experience (or related field) in the energy sector, preferably oil and gas expected, or equivalent educational experience such as a Masters in a related field or MBA ??? Commercial, customer relations, sales, or marketing experience helpful
