COMPANY: Ascend HR Solutions is has an exciting and energetic working environment. We specialize in providing payroll, benefits and HR services to small to mid-sized companies throughout the nation. As we continue to grow we have a part-time entry level opportunity in our HR dept. This is a great opportunity for someone beginning in the HR field. SCOPE: The HR Specialist is an entry level part-time (about 20 hrs/week) position that gives a look at several different areas of Human Resources. The HR Specialist will work under the direction of the HR Manager and will have responsibilities in Unemployment, Workers Compensation, Payroll, Employee Handbooks and other HR projects. The HR Specialist should have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Relocation costs may be covered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES o Stay current with State and Federal HR laws and regulations o Screen resumes and conduct interviews o Track unemployment claims. o Process unemployment and workers comp claims o Request workers comp certificates for clients o Manage Workers Compensation Policies for several clients o Process and track WC claims o Perform WC audits o Pay and reconcile WC bills o Verification of Employment and Wage Verification o Ensure E-Verify is completed for all employees o Assist with packaging and shipping payroll o Back up for payroll processors o Assorted HR projects o Other duties as assigned. o Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
