Job Summary The Marketing Communications (MarCom) Group Supervisor guides, directs, and is responsible for executing marketing strategy related to advertising, public relations, marketing writing, printed & electronic collateral development, and visual brand identity. The Supervisor guides the efforts of the Marketing Writer and Graphic Designer. To carry out responsibilities and ensure the successful implementation of marketing strategies, the supervisor must establish effective communications with marketing personnel, division managers, executive administrators, and third-party representatives. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Group Administration and Employee Supervision ??? Meet with the Marketing Manager on a regularly scheduled basis to analyze marketing communications operations, create and revise strategies, and report group and project progress. ??? Supervise MarCom employee activities by guiding individual projects and tasks, establishing policies and processes, assigning deadlines, and measuring results through weekly status reporting. ??? Organize and conduct appropriate meetings. ??? Manage and authorize employee leave. ??? Communicate company ideals, values, and vision. 2. Visual Branding and Collateral Development ??? Ensure consistency in the company visual identity for all external and internal communications, including maintaining an accurate and useful style guide. ??? Create effective strategies for employees to create or revise new and existing collateral. ??? Oversee creation of a variety of printed and electronic marketing collateral, including brochures, specification sheets, sales presentations, recorded product demonstrations, corporate identity materials, branded templates, whitepapers, event graphics, and more. ??? Help maintain the company???s website by coordinating updates to content and design. ??? Develop and maintain an annual project development schedule for scheduling new projects, adjusting group workload, and monitoring project status and deadline. This includes coordinating concept development, writing, layout, and printing to ensure efficient and accurate material production. ??? Prepare, manage, and track the printed collateral budget. ??? Develop and maintain relationships with third-party printers and manage collateral pricing, proofing, and invoicing. ??? Maintain a comprehensive set of collateral processes including effective revision, inventory, usage, reorder, and archiving systems. ??? Create and implement a seamless collateral approval system that ensures input and sign-off from writers, designers, management, and other vested personnel. ??? Coordinate creative design and project development for other company departments. ??? Provide detailed art direction and copy editing, and assist with marketing and public relations writing when needed. ??? Work with the Marketing Manager to continually develop ideas for new and effective collateral development. 3. Advertising Coordination ??? Develop and implement the annual advertising schedule including developing effective objectives and strategies, tracking and analyzing advertising effectiveness, and reporting progress to management on a regular basis. ??? Prepare, manage, and track the advertising budget. ??? Oversee the execution of ad copy and design. ??? Negotiate advertising rates and positions with print and online advertising media. ??? Ensure advertisements are accurately placed in publications and analyze competitor placement. ??? Obtain and track advertising leads. ??? Maintain communications and build relationships with advertising sales representatives. ??? Work with necessary third-party vendors to periodically gather new customer advertising photos through carefully executed photo shoots. ??? Occasionally attend international tradeshows to meet and negotiate advertising opportunities, build business relationships, and obtain appropriate competitive and industry information. 4. Public Relations Coordination ??? Work with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Writer to coordinate and maintain public relations efforts. ??? Prepare, manage, and track the public relations budget. ??? Contribute to and help oversee the company???s social media presence. ??? Edit and provide direction for press releases, and distribute press releases to industry and local media. ??? Track and measure resulting public relations coverage. ??? Coordinate customer case studies and work with necessary third-party vendors to periodically capture and produce customer video testimonials. ??? Receive editorial requests and facilitate proper response by submitting product listings, editorial features, etc. ??? Lead the effort in creating and distributing both a customer newsletter and internal employee newsletter. ??? Maintain communications and build relationships with key industry media personnel to obtain maximum positive product and company exposure.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Must be able to demonstrate effective supervisory skills, motivational skills, and detailed organization skills. Must possess strong creative writing and editing skills, be an excellent business communicator (particularly in writing), and have a critical eye for detail. Must be self-motivated and able to handle a diverse and full workload. Must develop good knowledge of Spillman products and company policies and procedures. Minimal travel is required. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Education and Work Experience Bachelor???s degree in marketing, communications, or related field is required. At least two years of experience in a marketing communications supervisory role preferred.
