    Job Description

    Job Duties Summary: Operates delivery vehicles in order to pick up recyclables at customer locations. Responsible for correct segregation, labeling and packaging of materials when assigned. May assist with maintenance of equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ??? Up holds a polite and courteous demeanor when working with customers and fellow employees. ??? Safely drives 24 foot straight truck. ??? Insists on and maintains a clean, orderly, and professional work area. ??? Supports and contributes to the maintenance of ISO Quality Management System and ISO Environmental Management System and related goals and objectives. ??? Uses assigned safety equipment and follows all safety rules. ??? Determines acceptable materials for recycling based on company procedures. ??? As needed, evaluates and enters data into the company database for lots assigned. ??? Assist in the proper training of all operators. ??? Adheres to all company policies and procedures. ??? Coordinates with the supervisor regarding capacity and priority. ??? Shares responsibility for the accuracy of production documentation reported to scheduling. ??? If assigned, assists in the preventive and corrective maintenance for department equipment. ??? Tracks vehicle maintenance and identifies unsafe conditions. ??? Lends assistance to assure the success of our sales network, including open and accurate communications with all operations staff, or supervisors.

    Relocation costs may be covered.


    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a current drivers license, clean driving record for the past three years, pass a drug and alcohol test, and be able to obtain a DOT medical card. They must provide the past three years of employment information and contacts; employment depends on satisfactory comments from these prior employers as performed by Human Resources or designee. Upon hire, the individual must pass a road test given by the Logistics or Operation Manager to demonstrate their proficiency in driving a truck. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or Training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Verbal and written instructions will be provided in English. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and Interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to identify hazardous materials and politely refuse to take unacceptable devices. Competency: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: ??? Attendance/Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. arrives at meetings and appointments on time. ??? Dependability: Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Additionally, an individual must have a satisfactory annual review of their driving record and pass all random or post-accident drug and alcohol screenings. Computer Skills: Must be able to understand output from and provide input to company ERP computer system. Other Skills and Abilities: Must possess good interpersonal and communicative skills and be able to set and maintain high standards. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current government issued ID, Certificate of training for forklift may be required. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
