Volunteer Couple
Rising Star Outreach, India

1. Volunteer and VIP Host: Responsible for welcoming, hosting, and assisting short-term and long-term volunteers. Overseeing the volunteer program including the Volunteer Director and Sponsorship Director, and working closely with Dr. Susan, Managing Director, ensuring that the programs are effectively run.

2. India Liaison: Responsible for acting as intermediary for volunteers wherever and whenever they come into contact with children, staff, and Indian management. Examples include tutoring at the school or hostel, prayer time with the children at the hostel, medical work in the colonies, colony and campus volunteer projects, playtime with the children, after school clubs, LifeDance, eating with the children, etc.

3. Support to Indian Managing Director: Liaison with Dr. Susan, Managing Director, and Indian leadership and staff on a daily basis to ensure any and all issues are addressed in the most sensitive way possible.


Assisting the Indian Managing Director with other tasks as requested. The Indian Managing Director is responsible for all campus operations and is very busy. Any additional help is appreciated.

4. Managing the Star Ownership Program throughout the year. This is a valuable program on the campus of Rising Star Outreach. Effective management of this program requires consistent communication with the Indian Managing Director.

5. Relationship Managers: Responsible for maintaining a strong relationship with Padma Venkataraman, Indian Board Chairman, and the Indian Board of Directors. Responsible for direct and constant communication with the USA leadership.

6. Fundraising: Help develop strategies, which take advantage of India’s new wealth and social awareness. Partnering with the Marriott, Cobra Legal Solutions, and other Multinational Corporations, Social Clubs, Rotaries, etc.

The couple has the opportunity to volunteer in a meaningful way on the campus of Rising Star Outreach in Chennai, India. Housing (two bedroom apartment with kitchen, on campus) food and transportation are provided.

We are looking for a mature couple to come and live and serve on our campus in India for 1-2 years. This couple would be responsible for helping oversee Rising Star's volunteer and sponsorship programs.
