Job Description
Education:
Minimum required: BFA in a visual arts discipline. Preferred: BFA in graphic design
Experience:
Minimum required: 5 years of agency or corporate experience in graphic design and/or creative services with performing arts events
Preferred: Management and art direction experience preferred
Skills, abilities or knowledge needed:
Excellent design skills, with the ability to understand and visually communicate the culture and disciplinary values of the fine and performing arts and communications
Excellent project management skills
Demonstrated successful design, integration, and delivery of projects on time and within budget
Skilled in design of e-mail campaigns and other online retention programs and campaigns
Understanding of and experience with the campaign process, providing direction and leadership, and creating deliverables that meet strategic objectives
Experience in creating promotional materials that can be utilized in various platforms (print, web, digital signage, multimedia, social media, TV, radio, etc.), as evidenced by portfolio review
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting
Strong conceptual skills, including online software concepts and online experience concepts
Understanding of and experience in corporate branding
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Ability to organize, oversee, and give artistic direction to student designers
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign
Skilled in Web UX and UI
Strong ability in user-oriented web design and related technologies such as HTML and CSS

Consult with college deans, chairs, and directors to determine visual requirements for projects and internal needs
Create and refine the creative brief, the vision document that creates all guidelines for forthcoming messaging
Responsible to create messaging and platform strategies
Design for and maintain the look and feel of the college brand
Create online visual design (including branding, UI, visual concept, and icon design) for the college and its departments
Lead major brand brainstorming sessions
Lead the creative aspects of projects to completion and manage outside creative resources where necessary
Select advertising/marketing ideas and messaging directions to pursue and execute, ensuring all branding elements are unified and coherent throughout the organization
Quality control filter for all visual and verbal communications associated with a brand or advertising campaign
Meet regularly with internal and external vendors to collaborate, pitch ideas and campaigns, and receive feedback
Management of Creative Services Team
Proactively organize work-flow to meet deadlines and budget
Manage designers and copywriters providing feedback, direction, and instruction.
Oversee and direct all creative services projects.
Mentor the Creative Services Team, including students.
Meet with the Marketing Director often to report on strategies, progress, budget, processes, and potential improvements.
Creating deliverables (Designing, Writing)
Work directly on projects including designing and copywriting duties, which may include writing and/or designing on-air spots, print ads, blog posts, internal materials, and anything else that is needed.
Consult with college deans, chairs, and directors to determine visual requirements for projects and internal needs
