The Manager Strategic Sourcing works with Manager Supply Chain to ensure all raw material supplies for manufacturing are met. Meanwhile, s/he should focus on exploring new raw material manufacturers with higher quality, lower price and better payment terms. Additionally, s/he needs to work with different department (i.e. laboratories, financial department, Quality Assurance) to make sure the best raw materials are used to produce best finish product in a best way.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manager Supply Chain to maintain the smoothness and stability of supply chain.
• Source new reliable manufacturers for 10~20 key raw materials.
• Negotiate with manufacturers to help VMI Nutrition get favorable price and payment terms.
• Build and maintain good relationship between VMI Nutrition and raw material manufacturers.
• Acquire necessary samples and documents from raw material manufacturers and keep track of them.
• Coordinate with the laboratories to test multiple samples.
• Work with Manager Finance to keep track of each payment.
• Travel to China to visit and audit raw material manufacturers when necessary.
• Meet suppliers and customers, attend Expos and Conferences with executives.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Science is required.
• Substantial understanding of business is a plus.
• Basic mathematical skills and conversance in converting units of measures are required.
• Relevant working experience is a plus, but not required.
• Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese and English is required.
• Efficient in Microsoft Office software is required.
• Ability to use supply chain management software is preferred.
• Strong desire to be a part of a growing team and an interest in the nutrition industry.
• Willingness to learn about and Quality Assurance and relevant acts and regulations.
• Willingness to travel both domestically and abroad for a total of up to 20% of work time.
