Job Description
Note: This position is in the Center for Family and Community Education.
The kindergarten teacher is responsible for the education of students and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and the knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education, and do so in accordance with each student's ability. The teacher will guide children in the kindergarten as they advance in their physical, mental, and social development and help maximize their potential in a positive and safe environment. The teacher will develop positive, productive relationship with students, parents, pre-service students, faculty, staff and administrators through effective communication.
Selected candidate will develop appropriate lesson plans in accordance with Utah Core Curriculum and NAEYC Standards; use of a variety of innovative teaching styles and methods; mentor pre-service students; utilize technology to enhance the learning experience.

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree, 3 years of consecutive teaching experience at any level, Early childhood or elementary (grades PrK-3 or K-6) license (or equivalent). Hold a valid level 1, 2, or 3 license from the State of Utah.
Experience in Pre K-3 or Early Childhood classroom within the last 5 years preferred.
Criminal background check required as a condition of employment.
