Job Description
Hyland Software is seeking a Quality Assurance Representative to join the growing SIRE Technologies team. The Quality Assurance Representative will be responsible for the test planning and execution of large application development projects including writing test cases, test execution and regression testing. This person must be able to work from package builds as well as place individual files for testing and packaging hot fixes. The Quality Assurance Representative will work closely with developers to accurately test the desired functionality in user stories and to resolve bug issues.
Position Responsibilities:
* Create test plans that accurately and thoroughly document steps to recreate testing scenarios
* Manage queue of assigned user stories and bugs within required deadlines
* Work with packaged builds and also place individual files for testing as required
* Package and distribute hot fixes, as assigned
* Create and maintain testing environments for individual use and also environments for department use, as assigned
* Ensure testing occurs on all applicable databases, browsers and operating systems, such as, SQL, Oracle, servers, client machines, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, and mobile devices
* Validate bugs from support and implementation, as assigned, and document appropriate systems for tracking
* Work closely with developers and other staff to ensure thorough knowledge of the feature requests and bugs to ensure testing covers the appropriate scope of the software change
* Determine go/no-go status for projects

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* 2-3 years testing experience writing test cases, conducting black box testing and performing exploratory testing
* Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to document testing steps, document issues and communicate with developers and other staff
* Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment
* Ability to work well with others to accomplish the desired task
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
* Ability to work well under pressure and follow through on open items to resolution
* Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Window-based applications
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience testing using Oracle and SQL databases, and experience testing on thick client applications and web based applications
* Familiarity with Team Foundation Server for writing test cases, and tracking user stories and bugs
* Understanding of Agile test methodologies
* Experience in Java Script, VBScript, VB .Net, XML
