Job Description
PLEASE NO WALK INS
We are looking for a full time Mechanic/Welder to serve as Service Center Specialist Technician for our fabrication and manufacturing shop in South Salt Lake.
DUTIES:
Performs mechanical equipment repairs and rebuilds involving machining, assembling and testing. Assists in equipment rebuilds and upgrades, requiring use of engine lathes, drill presses, milling machines, various other hand tools and testing equipment, such as VOM’s, megohmmeters, and amp meters. Applies test procedures to determine the integrity of the repaired equipment, required detailed knowledge of Diamond Power Specialty Company products, procedures and applications.
Assists in the fabrication and assembly work on boiler tubes, such as Lance Tubes, Feed Tubes, Elements and Square Drive Shafts. Also complete sootblower assemblies. Requires reading and interpreting drawings; isometric and exploded diagrams, cutting of material to proper length, painting and testing. Will be required to perform Welding operations.
Keeps record of all parts used and submit regular time sheets for repair orders. Performs a wide variety of miscellaneous duties of a related nature to the position.
Must follow all set company policies and procedures. Steel toed boots and safety glasses required.
Work hours 7am - 3:30pm, Mon – Fri with some Saturday work.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Previous mechanic/transmission experience required
MIG, TIG and ARC welding preferred
Ability to read and interpret drawings and exploded diagrams
Read, Write and comprehend English fluently
Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Good Math Skills
EDUCATION:
High School Graduate
Technical Degree in Mechanics and/or Welding preferred
