Responsibilities
The Controller is responsible for the implementation of company financial systems, including:
• Maintaining banking and investment relationships
• Compiling monthly financial reports
• General ledger accounting
• Supervises staff performing transactional accounting (in addition to the hands-on nature of this position)
• Ensures appropriate safeguards are in place to protect all funds, physical assets, and other property of the corporation
• Works closely with Administrative staff in budget planning, execution, and monitoring
• Helps prepare funding applications
• Manages all contracts
• Provides required Federal, state, and private grant financial reporting
• Works closely with the Executive Director in performing high-level financial analysis and makes recommendations accordingly.
• Reports monthly to Board Finance Committee
• Works closely with company Treasurer in coordinating the annual audit, in addition to other projects as appropriate
• Manages (with a support staff in each function) the following administrative support functions: physical facilities, IT services, reception, family support services
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Physical Demands
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Mobility in an office setting and in performing community errands
• Occasional light to moderate lifting and carrying; up to 45 lbs
• Must be able to see and hear with or without an aid
Compensation
Minimum starting salary of $56k/yr

Kids On The Move (non profit) is accepting applications for the Controller position. This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5+ years experience in accounting and operations management (potentially more if experience is not in non-profit industry or auditor role), including at least 4 years experience as a direct supervisor. Qualified applicants will possess:
• Thorough knowledge of QuickBooks
• Experience with outsource payroll systems with direct experience with Paychex preferred
• Experience with federal grant reporting is a big plus
• Must have excellent skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, ten key, and other standard office equipment
• Must have the ability to read and understand complex written information (regulations, policies, procedures, etc.) and to generate professional level reports, plans, and procedural instructions
• Must be able to skillfully compile and analyze data and in weighing alternatives and outcomes of various solutions. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Qualified individuals must be able to pass a Background Criminal Investigation and TB test, as well as have proof of current immunizations. Qualified applicants will also have an acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance at no less than the Utah state required minimum.
