Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff to provide timely and accurate service to patients who are our customers. As the responsibilities of this position are fulfilled effectively, our customers will be loyal and will recommend our service to others.

Responsibilities
Perform computer entry of information and engage in telephone conversations regarding patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription authorization & entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.

Demonstrate professionalism, skill and proficiency in using our computer systems telephone, and tools, ensuring that your performance and quality is at or above the level of your peers.

Exemplify a positive and willing attitude, working well with team members in handling varying tasks as priorities shift. Be aware of changing priorities and adjust as needed. Actively contribute in staff meetings, training, and productive discussion.

Help improve processes to ensure the highest level of quality and the most effective handling of tasks and responsibilities. Learn and share best practices with managers and peers. Reduce errors or issues that limit the effectiveness of others in the company in handling their tasks.

Set up and maintain patient records, handle insurance claims, and supplies.

Communicate professionally and accurately with team members, customers, and third-parties.

Assist the Pharmacist, serve customers and maintain the Pharmacy Department.

Create prescription labels, put them on prescription containers, retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory and place medication into prescription containers and ensure safety.

Assist in inventory management processes including: order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.

Skills and Abilities
Professional verbal and written communication
Manage multiple tasks with efficiency
Adept at using multiple computer programs simultaneously to enter and modify data
Basic understanding of pharmacy billing and prescription benefits Experience with Foundation Systems Inc. or similar pharmacy software preferred

Utah Pharmacy Technician License
HIPAA Certification (Medsource will pay for certification done on your own time)
Type 50 WPM
Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
