Job Description
A small but fast-growing medical device manufacturer based in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a full-time MECHANICAL OR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER to join our Engineering and Manufacturing operations. The selected individual will be responsible for the design, development, testing and manufacturing of new and existing medical products.
The successful candidate will wear many hats and assume a wide range of responsibilities, including:
•designing and developing new medical device products
•supporting and improving existing products, tooling and manufacturing processes
•creating CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks for parts and assemblies
•project management
•working with OEM manufacturers and component suppliers
•managing BOMs, modifying material and component selection/sourcing
•conducting and coordinating product testing and IEC certifications
•coordinating outside engineering consultants and interns
•planning, writing and implementing design verification and validation test procedures
•creating and maintaining documents, reports, and other documentation design history files
•working with regulatory and quality assurance personnel to address various regulatory, testing, change order and manufacturing/quality issues.
The right individual will join a small team of dynamic, highly motivated individuals in a fast-paced and personally rewarding environment. This is a day shift position based in Salt Lake City, Utah; infrequent travel may be required, and compensation is commensurate with experience.

For this challenging position, the preferred qualifications include:
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Biomedical or Manufacturing Engineering
•Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience in the medical device field
•Experience with product design, development, and manufacturing
•Proficient working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software required
•Familiarity with FDA Design Controls, ISO Regulations, IEC standards
•Demonstrated project management skills
•Must be able to lift 25 lbs
•Excellent writing and organizational skills with attention to detail
•Positive, outgoing personality with good verbal communication skills
•Self-starter with ability to work independently
•Solid computer skills in the basic MS Office suite programs; MS Access a plus
•Desire and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and participative team environment
