Job Description
SUMMARY OF JOB: This is a full-time, exempt position. Under the direction of the Sales and Marketing VP, the Account Manager is responsible for the preparation of group insurance renewal proposals and servicing the needs of commercial employer groups, school districts and brokers.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Serves as the liaison between EMI Health and its brokers, commercial groups, and education groups and provides education about current EMI Health products and programs.
-Ensures that informational materials needed at open enrollment meetings are prepared and ready for distribution and schedules and conducts open enrollment meetings and health fairs.
-Develops and prepares contract renewal information, rates, benefit options, and renewal letters. Performs detailed review and cost analysis at client’s annual renewal.
-Successfully maintains client group retention and increases revenue by increasing enrollment participation on voluntary products and cross-selling other products.
-Communicates results of new group contract and group contract renewal negotiations, including benefit options agreed to, premium rates, effective date, benefit programs, and other pertinent information to EMI Health staff members for implementation and servicing.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
-High school diploma with some college preferred plus four years of professional experience within the medical and dental insurance industry.
-Must possess and maintain a valid Utah insurance license.
-Must have effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
-Must have the ability to handle duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision; display professionalism in judgment and decision-making.
-Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet programs.
