Job Description
HVAC Controls Technician is responsible for start up, troubleshooting, commissioning and servicing of DDC building automation systems for commercial HVAC systems. A strong background and knowledge of DDC Control Systems hardware, software, networking and wiring is a requirement and the ideal candidate is a logical, detail oriented person with excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to interface and communicate with customers clearly and effectively. You must be a team player who is cooperative, and supportive to meet internal and external expectations and requirements of the Service Department.

Job Duties:
• Interpret control drawings, plans and specifications, and sequence of operation to test program.
• Point-to-point checkout, startup, and commissioning on assigned projects.
• Utilize hand tools, laptop, and test equipment on site.
• Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure overall system functions properly.
• Respond to customer service calls (emergency, on-site, or on-line), check indicated points of trouble, analyze requirement of system involved and check and test systems components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on automation system and components according to service agreement contracts.
• Test and verify system readings ensuring optimal system operation.
• Complete service repairs, replacements, upgrades, adjustments and calibration on automation systems and components.
• Complete and submit written service orders and reports covering all aspects of each assignment and activity.
• Provide technical support and direction to end-users and employees when applicable.
• Assertive and decisive when handling problematic situations with customers and staff.

Requirements
Job Requirements:
• Experience working with commercial Building Automation Systems
• Familiarity with LonWorks, BACnet, and Modbus communication protocols
• High School Diploma or GED
• Self motivated, ability to work independently and as a team member
• Friendly, professional, and must pass drug screening
• Currently a US citizen and can obtain security clearance
• Commercial HVAC trouble shooting skills
• Knowledge of network systems, electrical systems, hydronic systems, refrigeration systems, and building energy use
• Programming and commissioning experience
• Proficient with test meters and understanding wiring diagrams
• Possess a thorough understanding of control theory and control concepts
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software and strong PC computer skills
• Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to implement strategies and procedures that will improve Service Operations
• Possess and maintain a valid drivers license and clean DMV record
• Own basic hand tools
• Pneumatic controls experience a plus
• Working knowledge of the following controls systems a plus: TAC I/A Series, Network 8000, TAC Vista, I/NET, Andover Continuum
