Job Description
The Application Developer will be responsible to develop new applications and processes from design documentation and user requests. This position will perform a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements; code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology and confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. In addition, this position will resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls; maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed and document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
Requirements
A bachelors degree in Information Technology is preferred but not required. Two years of relevant work experience in Information Technology preferred. Familiarity with 4th Dimension (4D) preferred. Java or Microsoft certification is preferred. Advanced knowledge of system development methodology is preferred. Advanced knowledge of the fundamental principles of functional and unit testing is required. Advanced knowledge of relational database technologies is required. Successful candidates must have solid customer service skills, project management skills and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for this role.
